Neptune Enters Aries: Collective Inspiration, Ego Dissolution & Brave New Beginnings
On March 30, 2025, Neptune entered Aries for the first time since 1862. It's safe to assume no one currently living experienced the last Neptune-in-Aries occurrence, making this a once-in-a-lifetime astrological transit. Neptune will stay in Aries—with a few retrogrades in and out—until March 2039, when she finally lands in Taurus.
To better understand this 15-ish year journey, I tapped into heart-based higher wisdom and received some surprising revelations. But before we go there, let’s refresh our understanding of Neptune and Aries, and how to use these delineations to make predictions for our individual lives.
What does Neptune signify?
Neptune brings a watery illusion to everything she touches. She covers all in a mist, making reality hard to see. By the time she finishes floating through a house, she shines a light on our illusions, revealing where we've been clinging to unreality or idealism. While this process of disillusionment can be painful, we’re ultimately left with a clearer, more mature view of what’s real—and which dreams no longer serve us. We also better understand where our sphere of control begins and ends, helping us focus on productive actions and behaviors.
In a relationship house, for example, Neptune may reveal an unhealthy attachment to idealizing a perfect partner. We might find ourselves disappointed by someone we’ve put on a pedestal, realizing that this “perfect person” is not, in fact, our perfect match. We begin to see how our relationship choices reflect our own internal states of suffering, insecurity, and unmet needs. It’s not an easy process—there are tough pills to swallow—but when Neptune leaves the house, we’re left with deeper acceptance of ourselves and the people we love. We start to appreciate the inherent beauty in imperfection. We are left with unconditional love. There is so much to mine from a Neptune transit, and truly beautiful outcomes often result from these painful passages.
What does Aries signify?
Aries is spring personified—innocent, energetic, and filled with childlike enthusiasm. Aries acts on inspiration, often leaping into action without first considering whether the project should be done at all—or how best to do it. It’s all leaping and no looking; it’s a headlong rush into experience, and at its best, that energy is exhilarating and bold. Sometimes, what’s needed is simply to get started, regardless of the outcome. But in its shadow, Aries energy can be impulsive, leading to poor decisions, unfinished projects, and at times, harm to self or others.
Ruled by Mars, the planet of action, war, and masculinity, Aries also touches themes of aggression, competition, fighting, and injury. Yet Aries often signals a breakthrough and new beginning. Like flower buds breaking through the ground to find the sun, humans, too, can experience “breakthrough” moments during Aries season.
Other prominent Aries themes include independence and ego. Unlike signs such as Cancer or Libra, Aries is not naturally inclined to consider others’ needs. Aries follows internal inspiration—sometimes driven by ego or grandiose ideals. Yet because Aries dares to listen to their own heart and forge a brave, uncharted path, Aries placements often become inspiring and innovative leaders.
What should we collectively expect with Neptune in Aries?
When I channeled heart-centered wisdom about Neptune’s journey through Aries, I received surprisingly positive and optimistic messages (as you might expect from an idealistic Neptune blended with enthusiastic Aries).
From the human perspective, these themes may still require painful disillusionment to reach. But I believe the journey will be worth it. These are the five key themes I received:
1) Widespread Dispersion of Inspiration & Activating Energy
Neptune is boundary-less by nature. She seeps—often unnoticed—into every nook and cranny. She infects people with ideas, like a virus hopping between hosts, even across great distances. She is responsible for the “100th monkey theory,” the idea that once a critical number of individuals adopt a new behavior, it spreads rapidly—almost telepathically—through collective consciousness.
In Aries, Neptune will carry messages of hope and inspiration. She will infect the collective with fire and light. Visually, I saw a concert. One person lights their lighter, then the next, and the next, sometimes passing the light to one another—until the entire stadium is glowing.
2) Dreaming Up & Creating Utopia
In this mental image, I saw a person day dreaming, imagining something, and then reaching out across the horizon and, like a child plays with blocks, builds a tower. And then another, and then another. They are dreaming up a world they want to live in and creating it in real time. The emphasis is on creation energy: building, generating, manifesting. Each person has the power to do this, to imagine the world in which they want to live and to believe it’s possible.
3) Ego Dissolution & A Move Toward Community
The imagery I got with this theme is a group of people, arm in arm, swaying back and forth in peace and unity. There is a sense of accomplishment, relief and love. There is simply less suffering and more trust in one another. We feel more like a unit and less like the siloed individuals we are today. The vision also comes with this claireaudient sentiment, “We can do it!” The emphasis is on we—not simply “we are able,” but because we are united, now we can.
Asking further into the theme of ego dissolution, I was shown that we will begin to see the shadow of the ego and how living solely for “me” or “mine” actually leads to scarcity. We’ll start to understand that living for the highest good of all is the most effective way to care for ourselves and create abundance for individuals.
4) Collective Breakthrough
Here, I see a person breaking through a wall or a flower breaking through the earth. There is a sense that breakthrough is available for us individually and collectively. And again, a feeling of relief follows, along with the acknowledgement and appreciation that what we all endured was really hard. I am seeing this time being equated to the process of childbirth. It’s painful but on the other side of the pain, a new life begins.
5) Childlike Enthusiasm & Wonder
This is very simple, but I see a collective move toward awe, enthusiasm and wonder. To live with more appreciation for the every day joys this world can provide.
When I asked specifically about Aries’ association with war, I got a strong “NO.” Whether war is on the horizon, I was—at the very least—asked not to speak about it or give it form. So we’ll leave that alone.
What should you individually expect with Neptune in Aries?
To understand how this transit will affect you personally, you’ll want to:
Identify which house Aries rules in your chart
Take note of any planets in Aries (they’ll come into direct contact with Neptune)
Locate and interpret the condition of Mars (Aries’ ruler) in your chart
Take note of planets or angles in Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn (they’ll be challenged by Neptune at some point)

Any planets in Aries will be deeply affected by this Neptune transit. The nature of the shift will reflect the planet's meaning:

Venus: Love, pleasure, femininity
Mars: Passion, masculinity, drive
Jupiter: Wisdom, abundance, teachers

3) Locate and interpret the condition of Mars in your chart
Mars’ condition will flavor your Neptune-in-Aries experience. Some things to consider:
Do you have a day or night chart? Mars is more helpful in night charts.
Is Mars in Aries, Scorpio, or Capricorn? Expect stronger Mars themes and a more active experience.
Is Mars in Libra, Taurus, or Cancer? Mars relies on Venus or the Moon here, which may complicate things—expect slower, more nuanced growth.
Is Mars in the 6th house? He might be stronger here than usual.

Planets in these signs will be challenged by Neptune via square or opposition at some point during the transit. Expect disruption, growth, and ultimately, expansion.
